If you’re planning to visit Tokyo Skytree I recommend you put aside a day, and go early in the morning.
Visit the Tembo Deck on level 350, and spend a few hours, go to the restaurant, visit the store, get your photo taken on the glass floor, then buy the extra ticket up to the Tokyo Skytree Tembo Galleria Deck.
Approximately US$30pp to go up to floor 350 and approximately an additional US $20pp to go up to level 450.
When I went there the first time I didn’t know you could pay an extra $US10 and get a fast ticket with an express service to the elevator for level 350. I would advise taking this option (bring your passport and go to level 4) It’ll save you waiting in line for over an hour to buy an entry ticket. Your other alternative, if you can read Japanese, is to pre-book your elevator use and pay for your deck 350 ticket in Japanese yen online. Deck 450 is not available to be purchased anywhere other than on deck 350.
If you have time, I’d also recommend seeing the sunset, if the weather is good. If the weather is excellent you may even be able to make out Mount Fuji in the distance.
Allow at least a 2 hour wait for the lifts going down. Bring a book or make sure your smart phone is fully charged. The lines are long! Be prepared to be crushed in the lifts too. Don’t be precious about your personal space in Tokyo!
If you don’t think you’ll be able to make it to level 450, watch the short video. If you’re planning on going, best to be surprised. A video can’t really convey the amazing view that well!
